Carolina Hawks, a new AAU(Amateur Athletic Union) basketball and educational organization based in Raleigh, North Carolina. As a volunteer driven organization,
our goal is to operate two teams,
with players ranging in age from 13 – 15. Using basketball fundamentals and skills, we instill in our young student/
athletes the values of discipline,
sportsmanship and teamwork. We stress excellence – in the
classroom, in community, on
the court and in every aspect of life.
As a part of our strategy, we will include tutoring, career exploration and personal development. In fact, our driving philosophy is that college is not a goal but an expectation for all of our players. To reinforce this, we are developing an educational program call “Ed-Xploration” or Educational Exploration. We will be partnering
with local colleges, professionals, businesses and parents to develop a series of seminars to aid in our mission to
build a better student/athlete.
Ed-Xploration seminars consist of topics such as:
• Leadership: On and Off the Court
• The Amazing Relationship of Basketball, Math and Physics
• 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens
• Where There’s a Will There’s an “A”
• Financial Planning for Teens and
Parents
• High School & College Planning
• Paying for College: Scholarship / Financial Aid
• Go Green, Save the Earth
We also will visit two colleges or universities each season. We believe that with the right exposure, work ethic, blessings and support that our student/athletes can be
successful in high school and college.
